DESCRIPTION

AEGIR is a 3D-level design showcase. Explore the underwater facility's depth to discover the true horror behind it.



BACKGROUND

TASK

For this project, our team came up with the concept of an underground water facility for our level design. We foresaw many interesting interactions and timed-events by having a kraken monster roam around the facility while the player explores. For my task, I designed the initial level design and planned the interactions. After that, I worked with my team to continue iterating, grey-boxing the basic level in UE5, before finally placing the 3D assets to complete the level.



PROCESS

This project gave me the opportunity to try out UE5, something fairly new to the market at the time that we worked on the project. Intrigued by Lumen and Nanite, we made use of the new technology to go wild with the assets in order to get the most high quality look that we can go for. Because of this, I am also now familiar with the basics of using UE5. Overall, it was a very meaningful project in helping me to improve on level design as well as a new game engine.
